Patricia Colyer Vanished After Leaving With a Strange Woman
Patricia Colyer was just a week away from her 38th birthday when she disappeared. She was last seen on July 4th, 1986, at her mother’s home. Patricia left with a woman the family barely knew—a woman known only as “Dee.”
Patricia was reported missing ten days later, on July 14th, by her boyfriend.
Very little is known about Dee. She was reportedly a married trucker, and Patricia—who was on social security—may have met her at a pub in the days leading up to her disappearance.
That’s where the trail begins. And ends.
Patricia Colyer Reported Missing
On the day she vanished, Patricia told her family she was going away for a few days with Dee and Dee’s husband—a man the family never saw, never met, and who has never been identified.
Patricia never returned.
This case becomes even more unsettling when you compare it to other disappearances from the same era. The details line up disturbingly well with what I’ve labelled the Suspect One pattern:
- Female
- Under 40
- Small build
- Light brown hair
- Vulnerable circumstances
- Last seen with a man or a couple, no one can fully identify
Patricia was 5'3", around 110 lbs, with light brown hair—a near‑perfect match to the profile.
And then there’s Deborah Jean Swanson, who vanished on March 29th, 1986, just months earlier. She was last seen with an unnamed male at a party—a man who was also a suspect in another disappearance in the area.
Two women. Same year. Same general profile. Both were last seen with people who seem to evaporate the moment investigators start asking questions.
One wonders if this case is related to Jody Roberts, who “vanished” and then turned up 12 years later.
It’s hard not to see a pattern.
Vanished.us Says
This case has all the hallmarks of a predatory couple—a dynamic seen in multiple serial offender cases. If Suspect One is real, and if he is married, then the wife’s involvement suggests:
- Trafficking
- Sexual exploitation
- Coercion
- Luring victims under false pretences
Patricia walked out the door with a woman she barely knew, expecting a short trip. Instead, she vanished completely. No sightings. No remains. No belongings. No answers.
If you have verifiable information about Patricia Colyer—or about “Dee” and her unidentified husband—please reach out. This case is cold, but it is not forgotten.
