Donald Buchanan disappeared from his camp at half dome, Yosemite National Park on 11th August 1988. He was a much older hiker ages 88 years old. He had very poor health and was actually dying from Cancer. When he was reported missing a search was started. Search and rescue think they found his campsite at Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. At the campsite were his wallet and false teeth. Donald loved the outdoors so it’s assumed he died someone at half dome but a body was never found. The search for Donald involved 100 people, 3 helicopters and 5 dog teams.

This is quite common but usually, older couples walk off to die together. The fact he left his wallet could suggest he wanted people to know the area where he was going to die.
